Write a deck for couples

A collab with couples therapists. You write a deck of questions for couples, in your own voice, and every dollar it earns is split in half: our half goes to NAMI, and your half is yours to keep or give.

The collab

  • Your deck is sold in the app on its own, for $2.99, as a deck from you.
  • Everything it earns, after Apple's and Google's store fees, is split in half.
  • Our half goes straight to NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness. We don't keep it.
  • Your half is yours: a payout each month, or donate it too. Change your mind any time.
  • Each month you get a simple statement of how many couples bought your deck and where the money went.

Why we're doing it

Love You, Bye started as something for us. Peggie and Maddie, a married couple, wanted a way to stay close through ordinary days, busy weeks and time apart, and nothing out there felt right, so they made it. It's their first project as a team: Maddie writes the code, and Peggie shapes everything the app becomes. Maddie can program, but nobody beats Peggie at love. No investors, no growth team, just the two of them. Giving their half away is how they want this part of the app to work.

What the app is

Love You, Bye is a couples app full of little ways to stay close, no matter the distance between you. Thumb hugs and heartbeats you feel on the other phone. Doodles, love notes and voice notes. Games, date ideas and a Date Lottery. Memories, a shared map, a weekly check-in and a letter about your month. Questions for the two of you are one part of it, and that's where your deck lives. It's for any couple, together for a few weeks or a few decades. No feeds, no followers, no ads.
